Ingredients

  • 1 cup crushed ice
  • 16 oz. frozen mango pieces
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 11 oz. can of mango juice
  • 1 mango Fresh cubes from ripe mango
  • 3 tablespoons chili-lime seasoning blend
  • 1/2 cup chamoy sauce, plus extra for drizzling
  • 4 mini tamarind-flavored straws
  • 1 tablespoon agave syrup
  • A pinch of sea salt

Method

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients
  1. Before blending, gather all your ingredients and tools. Make sure to measure the frozen mango, lime juice, and other elements accurately. This will help you achieve the perfect balance of flavors.
Step 2: Blend the Base
  1. Throw the frozen mango pieces, crushed ice, lime juice, mango juice, agave syrup, and a pinch of sea salt into a blender. Blend until smooth. The mixture should be creamy and vibrant. If it’s too thick, add a splash of water until you reach your desired consistency.
Step 3: Prepare the Glass
  1. On a small plate, sprinkle the chili-lime seasoning blend. Dip the rim of your glass in chamoy sauce, then roll it in the seasoning to coat the rim evenly. This adds a beautiful look and a taste explosion with every sip.
Step 4: Layer the Mangonada
  1. Pour a layer of the blended mango mix into the glass, filling it about halfway. Drizzle chamoy sauce on the inside of the glass for that beautiful visual.
Add fresh mango cubes on top, followed by more of the mango blend to fill the cup.
Step 5: Garnish and Serve
  1. Finish off with a final drizzle of chamoy on top and a sprinkle of chili-lime seasoning for visual appeal. Insert the tamarind straws for some fun. Voila! Your delightful mangonada is ready to sip and savor.

Notes

  • Use Fresh Mangos: If possible, use ripe, fresh mangos in addition to frozen ones. This adds depth to the flavor.
  • Adjust Sweetness: If you prefer a less sweet mangonada, skip the agave or reduce the amount. The fruit usually adds enough natural sweetness.
  • Be Mindful of Spice: Not everyone enjoys strong spice. Start with less chili-lime seasoning, and you can always add more if desired.
  • Swap the Flavors: Feeling adventurous? Use other fruits like pineapple or strawberries mixed with mango for variety.
  • Chill Your Glasses: For an extra refreshing experience, chill your glasses in the freezer for a few minutes before serving.
